Well! A few things we wanted to just quickly clear up from tonight's news post, which can be found here!

We heard the feedback from some of you after Gene's Hollow was released. It was somewhat different from what we expected. This feature was added in part due to the large volume of reports we were receiving on "carrier" trades going wrong, but also to provide a simple and safe way to verify carrier status, with pricing based around average scries per pairing, per mutation. Other factors included how it makes selecting puppies to raise easier, as you can check them for mutations right away, if that's what you're specifically breeding for - something which isn't possible with the Scrying Stone.

Regardless, our devs have worked very hard this evening to get this secondary 'patch' update out to you as fast as possible, and we have added an extra option to Gene's Hollow:

* You can now ask Gene to check specific mutations on a wolf, rather than all of them at once. Each mutation costs 50 SC to check.

* You can still check all of them at once as before.

* All results will now display in a 'Carrier Report' linked directly from the wolf's page. This will list all the recessive mutations in the game, and whether a wolf has been tested for it, and if so, what their carrier status is.

We have also added 3 new FAQ questions under the Breeding tab for more clarity on what it means for a wolf to be a 'Carrier' of a mutation.

We hope this will satisfy you guys a little more!

And to recap from the last post on a ruling change:

Given the nature of this change, members may only advertise wolves as "potential" or "possible" (or any alternative) mutation carriers if they descend from a mutated parent or a parent with a confirmed carrier status. If a wolf does not have at least one mutated or confirmed parent, they cannot be advertised as a "potential carrier". On a similar note, NBWs may only be advertised as carriers if their status has been checked with Gene.

All players have one week from today to adjust their advertisements accordingly. If your wolf does not descend from a mutated or confirmed parent, or you have not checked them with Gene, please be sure to update your advertisement by February 17th, 2021.
